A free reading assessment that will assess their ability to read grade level sight words, read and comprehend fiction and nonfiction passages, determine their reading speed, accuracy, and fluency.
An assessment and lessons for pre-reading skills are available for small children preparing for Pre-K or Kindergarten
(ex: letter recognition and their sounds, sight words, etc.)
An optional dyslexia screening will determine their ability to identify and produce rhyming words, blend sounds, and read phonics patterns. This is not for a diagnosis. The screening will simply allow me to see if your child presents a gap in skills that could suggest dyslexia may be contributing to their reading challenges. This will allow you to take the necessary steps to get a diagnosis from a qualified physician.
The reading assessment will allow me to target your child's exact pain points and teach them using lessons that will focus on the skills that they need to improve.
This way, I can get right to the problem areas, they can see faster results, and an increase in their reading level more quickly.
Lessons are dynamic and fun!
I have always enjoyed mentoring my students so I incorporate mentorship into my tutoring sessions where necessary. I won't simply help your child with reading and send them on their way. Motivation, increased confidence, improved study skills, organizational skills, and a safe, judgment-free space is what your child will receive from me.
These assessments will track your child's growth and progress over time.

Thank you for coming to learn about how I can offer my support and assist in increasing your child's reading level and closing their reading gaps. I am passionate about helping our children reach their greatest potential in reading and in life overall.
My name is Dana Monique. I am the owner and Reading Interventionist at Success in English, LLC. I also do business under the name Success in Reading.
I am very aware of the low literacy levels in children today, especially within underserved communities. I offer convenient online lessons that can quickly close the reading gaps by targeting the deficits a child has in order to reach reading proficiency much more quickly than other reading tutoring programs out there. My vision is to see much stronger literacy skills amongst our children.
By profession, I am a New York State licensed general and special educator who has been teaching since 2010. I started as a Lead Teacher/Educational Director for a Pre-K program, and then moved on to teach grade 2 in a charter school. Later, I took a role as a special educator in a private school. Overall, I have taught students from preschool to grade 8 in school settings and provided one-to-one services in students' homes. I hope to be able to serve your and your child also!

$35 for a 30 minute lesson.
